ICHS Gala Raises $130,000 for Affordable Health Care Services

Seattle, WA – International Community Health Services' (ICHS) is pleased with the success of Bloom ’10, its gala fundraiser on Saturday, May 15 at the Westin Seattle.  This year’s event raised $130,000, a nearly 10 percent increase over the revenues raised last year, to help sustain affordable health care services for the community.

“ICHS and the ICHS Foundation would like to thank the generous donors and all those who attended the event for their support of ICHS’ mission to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate health care services,” states ICHS Foundation Board President Charles Wu.

Bloom ’10 also commemorated the inaugural presentation of the Bamboo Awards for Health, an award established by the Boards of ICHS and the ICHS Foundation to recognize outstanding individuals or agencies whose strong achievement has resulted in the betterment of health for ICHS, local Asian Pacific Islander (API), and other communities.  This year’s winners were the Healthy Washington Coalition and Robert Santos. Exemplifying the bamboo's tough, resilient, sustainable, and healing qualities, both award winners have demonstrated a tireless commitment to the health and well-being of the communities they serve.

International Community Health Services is the largest Asian and Pacific Islander community health center in Washington state. ICHS operates medical and dental clinics in the International District and Holly Park with modern facilities and on-site laboratories and pharmacies in both locations. ICHS clinics offer a full range of primary medical, dental, and preventive health education services. In addition, it runs an alternative medicine program staffed by a Washington state certified acupuncturist at the ID location. All services are staffed with multi-lingual certified medical assistants and patient services representatives, providing assistance in more than 15 languages.
