International Community Health Services (ICHS) medical provider John Marrin, FNP, DNP-BC, has been honored with the Health Care Heroes Award from the Puget Sound Business Journal.

"John Marrin has been an invaluable clinical leader at ICHS, providing the expertise and overall direction in ICHS’ HIV Prevention and Management Program,” said Jeffrey Gibbs, ICHS Chief Health Officer. “Marrin leads with kindness and warmth and inspires all of us every day."

Marrin has been at ICHS for ten years and currently cares for patients of all ages at ICHS’ Bellevue Medical & Dental Clinic.

The Health Care Heroes Award recognizes those who have made an impact on health care in Puget Sound through their concern for patients, their research and inventions, innovative programs and other efforts that “meet the rising demand with innovation, proficiency and empathy” said the PSBJ in the announcement.

As program clinician of ICHS’ HIV care, Marrin has led the implementation of new clinical interventions to increase universal screening for HIV. His leadership has launched same-day scheduling for sexual health services and has improved the health of ICHS patients and the communities ICHS serves. He has made ICHS’ HIV continuum of care – the steps that people living with HIV go through from diagnosis to achieving and maintaining viral suppression – more efficient then ever.

He will be honored with the award at the Health Care Heroes luncheon in Seattle on July 30, 2026 during a lunchtime awards ceremony.
