Job Summary
The Mental Health Clinician plays a vital role in collaborative, client-centered care, focused on enhancing the emotional, mental, and behavioral health of those we serve. Working within our Outpatient Behavioral Health program, this role provides culturally sensitive assessments, interventions, and counseling services to a diverse range of clients. The Mental Health Clinician functions as a member of the collaborative care team within the framework of established behavioral health guidelines, ICHS’ Principles of Practice and approved by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Washington.

Position Requirements

One (1) year experience in a multicultural health care clinic and direct service experience with bilingual/bicultural patients preferred. Experience with motivational interviewing techniques preferred. Experience with assessing mental health and substance abuse use disorders and providing appropriate interventions based on the patient’s level of need preferred.
Other Requirement(s) - Suicide assessment, treatment, and management training required by WA State Department of Health. In addition to patient care within the framework of established behavioral health guidelines and ICHS’ Principles of Practice and approved by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Washington, the Substance Use Disorder Professional functions as a member of the collaborative care team that includes the patient, primary care provider, behavioral health provider, consulting psychiatrist, and other medical staff as needed. This position is responsible for providing integrated substance use disorder care within a primary care setting. This is temporary position for 2 years with possible renewal in the future.
