I love working at the Shoreline clinic because I have a very short commute. More importantly, the mission of ICHS is aligned with my own – providing culturally and linguistically appropriate health and wellness services and promoting health equity for all.

Why I Work at ICHS:
It has been my goal since first traveling abroad during my undergraduate studies to support better futures for youth and families experiencing trauma and loss associated with war and displacement. I believe that the behavioral health program at ICHS shares these goals and I am so excited to be joining this team.

There is no one size fits all model for behavioral health, especially when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Patients are at the center of treatment. I work to bring diverse tools, meet patients where they are at and offer creativity, support and empathy to help them reach their goals.
Interesting Note About Myself:
I’ve spent in total almost a year in India and Nepal over several trips.
I’ve known about ICHS for a long time and I’m glad to finally be working here. I like that ICHS works and engages the API community in various ways. The vision and mission of ICHS also aligned with what I want for the community, so it’s a wonderful opportunity to work here.

As a Native Hawaiian with roots in the International District, working at ICHS feels like returning home to give back to my community.

I believe it is important to be driven by our values. I value patient care as the highest priority. Everything we do should ultimately benefit the patient. The patient is the “expert” and I am privileged to help. I provide services from a strength’s based perspective and meet the patient where they are at.
Interesting Note About Myself:
I have been a board member of the Asian Pacific Islander Community Leadership Foundation (ACLF), which is a community based, non-profit organization that trains and supports the leadership and civic engagement of Asian Pacific Islanders, for almost five years, including serving as board president in 2017.
Born and raised in Beijing, China, I have always had a desire to see the world, to understand and to improve. In 2007, I graduated from Ohio University with a Master of Education in community counseling with a focus in school counseling. Soon after, I decided to take on the career path as a mental health therapist. In the past few years, I have grown tremendously and was also very humbled by this experience. I am truly excited about this opportunity with ICHS and the Seattle World School. I have always been part of the international community during my years in the United States and it is an honor for me to be able to serve this community.
